INRO Announcements

We are pleased to announce that MATREX Oy, under the direction of Mr. Tapani Särkkä, was appointed distributor for EMME/2 and STAN for Finland. MATREX will take over all the activities that were previously carried out by Finnmap Oy. We would also like to announce that Mr. Hédi Larbi, our agent for France, has taken a six month leave of absence from his regular duties in order to take on an assignment at the World Bank in Washington, D.C. During his absence INRO will handle directly all matters related to new purchases and upgrades of EMME/2 licences in France.

Since the beginning of this year, INRO offers EMME/2 training sessions, in Montreal, on a regular basis. The program includes introduction courses as well as courses focusing on particular aspects of the system. All these courses include hands-on practice.

The following training sessions are scheduled:

May 5-7, 1993 Introduction to EMME/2
May 10-12, 1993 Advanced topics on the auto assignment
September 22-24, 1993 Introduction to EMME/2
September 27-29, 1993 Topic to be determined (see list below)
December 1-3, 1993 Introduction to EMME/2
December 6-8, 1993 Topic to be determined (see list below)

According to the interest shown by potential participants, the still open topic of two advanced courses will be chosen from:

A new price list for EMME/2 licences became effective at the beginning of March. The main changes are a reduction of the cost of licences on single processor UNIX workstations and the addition of new computing platforms from SUN, IBM, HP and DEC.

Ms. Christine Gedeon has taken a one year leave of absence, starting at the end of January. Mrs. Gina Dufour, who has joined the INRO staff last September, is now fulfilling the functions of STAN software support and development.

In June, INRO will expand its current premises to accommodate new staff members. This is a direct consequence of an increasing involvement in specialized consulting services and the offering of training courses on a regular basis.
